YES Day Walk for Autism Brings Thousands Together for Sixth Year

On Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) hosted its sixth annual YES Day Walk for Autism, bringing the community together at Tempe Beach Park for a free event celebrating individuals with autism and their families.

This year’s YES Day marked another record-breaking year, welcoming nearly 6,000 attendees who came together to support SARRC’s mission.

The morning kicked off with an energizing warm-up led by physical therapist and digital creator Dr. Stacie Barber, alongside the Suns and Mercury mascots, before thousands of participants set off on the one-mile walk. Following the walk, attendees explored resources from more than 70 autism providers from across Arizona, enjoyed food trucks, games and family activities, and visited a free pumpkin patch generously provided by presenting partner Sprouts Farmers Market.

With over $520,000 raised and counting, this year’s event will help strengthen SARRC’s programs, services and research, expanding support for individuals with autism and their families.

“We’re so grateful for our SARRC team and what they do to bring this community together, but we couldn’t do it without the amazing groups, businesses and organizations that come together to say ‘yes’ for people with autism and their families,” said Daniel Openden, SARRC president and CEO.

Through YES Day, SARRC celebrates the power of community, collaboration and shared commitment to creating opportunities for individuals with autism and their families. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, partners, volunteers and supporters whose leadership and generosity make this event possible year after year.
