Hats Off to the Graduates!

From preschool to independent living, the Class of 2026 is celebrating major milestones.

Graduation season is all about celebrating new beginnings, and at SARRC, we had the privilege of honoring graduates at two very different stages of life. From young adults completing a two-year transition program to preschoolers preparing for elementary school, every milestone is a reminder of what’s possible with the right support.

First Place Transition Academy Graduates

In May, the Class of 2026 from the First Place Transition Academy, clinically operated by SARRC, crossed the stage at GateWay Community College to receive their Life Skills Certificate — a meaningful milestone marking the completion of the program’s comprehensive two-year residential experience.

The Transition Academy is a two-year residential program that supports adults with autism in developing independent living and career readiness skills such as cooking, budgeting, etiquette, personal safety and navigating transportation. SARRC provides clinical services and teaches the Learn4Independence® (L4I) curriculum. Participants also receive individualized transition planning and gain valuable career experience through volunteer opportunities, internships and employment supports, all culminating in graduation with a Life Skills Certificate from GateWay Community College.

Community School Graduates

In early July, SARRC’s Community School program celebrated four graduating classes across its Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale and Mesa campuses.

Together, more than 30 pre-K students completed the preschool program and are now preparing for their next chapter: kindergarten.

SARRC’s Community School provides an inclusive early learning environment where children with and without autism learn, play and grow together. Through a play-based curriculum and individualized support, students build the academic, social and communication skills that help prepare them for success in school and beyond.
