Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center’s (SARRC) Teen & Adult Services team is excited to now offer the Learn4Independence curriculum, a 32-course curriculum developed with First Place AZ and designed for individuals with autism. This nonresidential offering is now available to the broader community!
Over two years, Learn4Independence covers 32 courses focusing on a diverse range of topics starting with basic information and building to more advanced concepts to support employment and independent living.
Classes are located at GateWay Community College in Phoenix and start Monday, Aug. 21.
To qualify, students must be 18 years or older; have an autism diagnosis, and be able to find transportation to and from classes at GateWay CC. Students seeking sustainable employment and a more self-sufficient, independent life can thrive with Learn4Independence, and can look forward to learning more about:

Additionally, the Learn4Independence® program allows participants to experience a postsecondary education setting, and build social skills and friendships in a group-based community setting.

$2,000/semester (four semesters in total)

Location and Schedule:
All classes are located at GateWay Community College-Washington Campus (108 N 40th St, Phoenix, AZ 85034). Classes follow the Gateway CC academic calendar.
