Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are critical to the success of the SARRC! We couldn’t accomplish the important work we do in the community without our dedicated volunteer force. Whether assisting at an event, helping to facilitate a special project, or working on administrative tasks, we rely on our volunteers to achieve SARRC’s mission!

We welcome individuals on their own or groups of individuals from companies and community organizations are welcome to volunteer at SARRC. Please consider any of the following types of opportunities when considering how you or your company might best volunteer:

Once you enroll for a volunteer opportunity, our team will follow up with you directly. First-time volunteers can look forward to a brief meet-and-greet with our volunteer team and orientation to become more familiar with SARRC!

Mentorship Opportunities

SARRC is always looking for teen mentors to volunteer in either our PEERS Program or CommunityWorks program. Teens gain leadership skills while gaining a better understanding of neurodiversity and of those who may be different from themselves. In addition to being a fun, meaningful way to get involved within the community, you will be a role model by modeling appropriate social behavior and help provide a supportive inclusive environment. As a teen mentor, the experience can be used in a resume, a college application or volunteer hours for school requirements.

PEERS® for Teens is a 14-week evidence-based skills intervention for teens with ASD that teaches social skills. SARRC is recruiting for typically developing teenagers (8th to 12th grade) to serve as peer mentors in our PEERS program.

We are looking for teens who are comfortable initiating conversations, are willing to have phone calls and online get-togethers, and show up each week with a positive attitude. Participants will have better understanding of autism and how to recognize and support neurodiversity in their everyday life.
