When the Price family moved to Arizona for a job relocation from New Jersey in 2017, one of their first stops was to Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC).
“Coming from New Jersey—a state with some of the highest rates of ASD in the country—and having a son on the autism spectrum, my wife and I have always been active in leveraging all available resources to help him continue to reach his full potential,” says Jamie Price. “When we heard of SARRC, we toured both campus locations, and soon after, knew its programs and services covering all levels of need and life stage was truly unique.”
The Prices share that, “What really attracted us to SARRC is their lifetime of services model, including their inclusionary school education and clinical services, as well as their commitment to research. And it’s added assurance that SARRC holds a leadership position within the country in every aspect of serving the autism community at large.”
Recognizing SARRC’s impact, and its strong board governance and diverse sources of funding, they decided to invest as Legacy Circle members to help safeguard the continuation of the needed programs for children, teens, and adults, and ensure the integrity of its mission over time.
Notably, though, to the Price family, their hope is that inclusion programs become the norm in communities everywhere.
“Inclusion at an early age is so necessary and advances social acceptance so those with autism are not just reaching higher and higher achievement, but they can also be productive and contributing members of our society,” he shares. “We hope the impact of our legacy gift will inspire others to do as we have and contribute whatever amount they can to help SARRC continue to run well and sustain its mission.”
