The Bezanson Family

Patti and Peter Bezanson were introduced to the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) after their friends invited them to attend SARRC’s Annual Community Breakfast.

Attending this premier event allowed Patti and Peter to learn more about SARRC’s work, inspiring them to become more involved.

“The testimonials from parents and stakeholders inspired us to give,” Peter says.

Inspired by powerful testimonials, they joined SARRC’s Multiyear Visionary Partner (MVP) program, aiming to help expand its reach and provide more families with vital resources.

Through their involvement as MVPs, Patti and Peter hope to contribute to SARRC’s growth, helping expand its reach and impact. Specifically, creates the necessary conditions for SARRC to broaden its services and locations, offering more families access to essential resources.

“Our dream would be that our multi-year gift and other types of support help to create favorable conditions for SARRC expansion of services and locations,” Peter says.

As co-CEOs and co-chairmen of BASIS Educational Ventures, Patti and Peter have devoted their careers to enhancing education, overseeing 42 charter schools across four states and Washington, DC, and giving back to others.

Beyond their support of SARRC, Patti and Peter support a variety of causes including BASIS Charter Schools, one·n·ten, the National Science Bowl, AZ Speech & Debate, the Coolidge Foundation, and the Arizona Council on Economic Education.

In their personal lives, Patti and Peter are avid fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team and the Indiana Fever.

Having both moved to Arizona from the Midwest in the late 90s in search of sunshine and new opportunities, the Bezansons consider Arizona home. Their long-standing connection to the state has fueled their desire to give back to the community that has supported them.

Through their ongoing commitment to SARRC, Peter and Patti hope to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and families affected by autism, helping them build a brighter future.
