SARRC and First Place® AZ have teamed up to introduce Arizona’s first specialty autism license plate: “Driving Support for Autism.”
Designed to raise awareness and generate support for autism-related programs and services across Arizona, artwork for the license plate was created by Joe Bradley, an accomplished artist on the autism spectrum and a founding member of SARRC’s Self-Advocate Advisory Board. Joe’s design draws upon his unique perspective shaped by personal experiences with autism and more than two decades of artistic expertise. His creation celebrates the vibrant spectrum of autism, symbolizing unity in diversity and the shared journey of understanding and acceptance.
The new plate is available at azmvdnow.gov with an initial cost of $25 and an annual renewal fee of $25; $17 from each plate sold will directly benefit SARRC and First Place AZ, helping fund critical programs and services for individuals with autism and other neurodiversities.
“SARRC and First Place AZ are honored to enhance awareness and rally support for autism-related programs and services across Arizona through our new license plate,” said SARRC President & CEO Daniel Openden, Ph.D., BCBA-D. “We’re also proud to showcase the original artwork of Joe Bradley—an accomplished artist on the autism spectrum and a founding member of our Self-Advocate Advisory Board—whose creativity and talent bring this license plate to life.”
