SARRC’s January 2024 Grandparents Support Group will be held on Friday, January 19 from 10-11:30 a.m. Our speaker will be Matt Huentelman, PhD, professor at Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen).
Dr. Huentelman will share more on how the body’s longevity typically outlasts our brain health. This gap significantly impacts personal independence and well-being, as well as societal economic standing. An emerging approach to better understand brain aging and more personally fine-tune anti-aging approaches is known as Precision
Aging; wherein a person’s own data helps to drive the treatment approaches to better help the aging brain match the aging body. During this presentation, Dr. Huentelman will introduce the concept of Precision Aging and explain how this approach may power the way we age and avoid age-related brain diseases in the future.

Grandparents Support Group meetings empower, enrich and support all members. In addition to offering a network of support, grandparents attending the group’s monthly meetings participate in facilitated discussions, learn the latest information about autism from guest speakers, receive advice and training, and socialize with each other.
