“A Grand Adventure”

On May 30, 2012, Keith "Casey" Callahan and his dog, Boomer, are heading out on an adventure of a lifetime. A carpenter for over 44 years and devoted AZ Diamondbacks fan, Casey recently retired and plans to spend the summer traveling around the country visiting national parks, historical monuments and major league ballparks.

"The trip originated because I am a patriotic American and I wanted to be able to claim that I've been to all 50 states in this land I love," said Callahan. "There are only 9 states in the continental U.S. that I haven't been to and they are all included on my route.

Casey has 17 brothers and sisters and 9 grandchildren, many of whom he will be visiting along the way. Finally, an important part of Casey's dream includes his desire to raise funds for a charitable organization.

Thanks to a chance meeting with Anthony Verdugo, a grandfather of a young boy with autism, Casey was inspired to raise awareness and funds for Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) while on the road.

Thank you, Casey and Boomer! We wish you a safe and wonderful journey!
