Funding a Special Needs Trust

Presented by Karen Starbowski, SpecialCare Planner at MassMutual, this presentation will explore the benefits of special needs trusts. These trusts provide caregivers with a way to ensure the care and quality of life of their dependents with special needs, without jeopardizing their eligibility for federal assistance. Funds in the trust can supplement the standard services and benefits provided by government programs. The discussion will cover the different types of special needs trusts, key considerations for when to fund them, and various funding options.

Karen Starbowski is a SpecialCare Planner. She has been working with the special needs community for almost 15 years. During this time, she has worked with SARRC and their Planned Giving Advisory Council. She also works with the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix and the Down Syndrome Network of AZ.
