Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) is passionate about supporting the community, and we understand how crucial a child’s development is in an inclusive environment.
The fall-themed event invites families to discover our Community School program with staff-led tours and will offer free autism screenings for children up to 84 months old.
This is a great opportunity for families to get questions answered about their child’s development and learn more about our preschool program, which provides all-day high-quality care to children with and without autism ages 15 months to 5 years.
Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at SARRC’s Scottsdale Paiute Campus: 6535 E Osborn Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
The screening will take approximately 15 minutes based on the child’s age and the responses provided. Parent(s)/caregiver(s) will consult with an experienced SARRC staff member who will utilize a standardized and valid procedure to assess whether a formal evaluation is recommended. Following the screening, a SARRC team member may advise that a formal autism diagnostic evaluation is recommended.
Please note that developmental screenings are not autism evaluations. However, based on responses and eligibility, a developmental evaluation by a licensed professional may be offered at no cost at a later date.
SARRC’s Community School is a preschool that provides high-quality early childhood education for both children with and without autism in a blended classroom environment.
