Anne McNamara

Anne McNamara first became involved with SARRC after her niece’s son, Gardner, was diagnosed with autism at 3 years old. In search of support, his mother turned to SARRC, where they found valuable resources and guidance. With SARRC’s help, the family made significant progress, demonstrating the impact of early intervention.

Beyond resources, SARRC also provided a strong sense of community. Anne’s niece became part of a supportive moms’ group made up of parents of children on the autism spectrum, all connected through SARRC’s programs. This group became an essential source of encouragement and shared experience, further strengthening their journey.

In 2023, Anne attended SARRC’s Annual Community Breakfast, an event that raises critical funds for the organization’s programs, services, and research. At the event, Anne saw firsthand how SARRC’s community of donors plays a key role in advancing its mission to support individuals with autism and their families. Witnessing Gardner’s progress in social interactions over the past two years deepened Anne’s commitment to supporting SARRC’s work.

Moved by the positive impact SARRC had on her family, Anne decided to become a Multi-Year Visionary Partner (MVP), pledging a five-year donation to help the organization expand and reach even more families in need.

“Seeing the improvements in his social interactions and skills over the past two years understand how the services he was receiving made a difference in his life,” Anne shares. “I wanted to support an organization that was making a difference [in the lives of] families.”

Through her five-year commitment to SARRC as an MVP, Anne hopes to help the organization expand and serve more families like her niece’s.
