A Journey to Clarity and Confidence with SARRC’s Diagnostic Services

When Danielle Nobis and her husband began seeking answers for their son, Bronson, they turned to SARRC’s Diagnostic Services team, a place they had heard about through their own research and friends. What they found was more than a diagnosis; they found a team that saw their children fully, and a process that left them feeling understood and supported.

“SARRC has been an incredible resource and team to work with,” Danielle says. “Every individual has been supportive, kind and understanding. They really took the time to understand our children.”

For the Nobis family, SARRC’s Diagnostic Services provided the clarity and confidence they needed during a time of uncertainty. Bronson’s autism diagnosis was not unexpected; it affirmed what Danielle and her husband had come to recognize. But the thoughtful, collaborative evaluation process helped them take the next step without worry.

Going through SARRC was a welcoming experience for Danielle and her husband.

“Calling SARRC and scheduling evaluations was a breeze,” Danielle says. “We were scheduled quickly, given all the information for the process, and were thoroughly supported along the way.”

Additionally, it gave them space to ask important questions and allowed them to grow as parents, in both their confidence and their understanding of their boys’ needs. That growth, however, didn’t begin with Bronson. It was rooted in a journey that started years earlier, when they first began noticing developmental differences in their oldest son, Brodie.

From the beginning, Brodie’s development felt different than that of other kids. He struggled to sleep, met key milestones later than expected, and eventually stopped gaining new words. When he experienced a significant regression — losing all language and many other skills, Danielle knew in her gut that he needed more support than they were being guided toward.

“In hindsight, there were always little subtle signs from birth until his regression,” Danielle says. “The regression was the catalyst for clearly connecting all his needs, sensitivities, and differences. We knew he was autistic and needed to pursue a diagnosis and support.”

At the same time as the family was navigating Brodie’s regression, Danielle gave birth to Bronson. With so much already in motion, it was a deeply emotional time. Still processing Brodie’s changes, they became acutely attuned to Bronson’s development — not out of fear, but with new insight.

Though Bronson’s behaviors were different from his brother’s, they noticed familiar trends: Disrupted sleep, intense emotional responses and sensory sensitivities. Danielle recognized that Bronson, too, may be on the autism spectrum.

“SARRC’s process wasn’t just about getting a diagnosis,” Danielle explains. “It was about feeling like we were on the same team. They asked thoughtful questions, made space for us to share, and gave us tools to move forward.”

With both boys, Danielle and her husband have embraced a flexible, responsive approach to parenting — always observing, adjusting, and supporting based on their evolving needs. They’ve made it a priority to stay closely in tune with how their children communicate, whether through movement, emotion or behavior, and respond with care as those needs change. That flexibility has been essential.

To other families who may be just beginning their autism journey, Danielle offers encouragement and emphasizes the power of early detection and support.

“Everything feels overwhelming when you start noticing differences,” Danielle says. “A formal diagnosis can be truly life-changing. For our oldest son, it opened the door to support, resources, further parent education, and, of course deep understanding of our child. A diagnosis doesn’t change or ‘label’ your child, it gives a clear explanation and opens doors to helping them reach their greatest potential.”
