Kathleen and Tom Harris

“The most powerful leadership tool you have is your own personal example.” —John Wooden

Tom Harris is a leader … a leader in his work, in his community service and his giving. As a member of the SARRC Board of Directors, he has lent his leadership and expertise to the Development Committee to generate awareness, fundraise and tell SARRC’s story.

“I have been involved with SARRC for five years,” says Tom. “I learned of their mission by attending one of the first Community Breakfast events that they held.”

Tom is a native of Arizona, who grew up in Winslow and attended Arizona State University. A proud Sun Devil, he works for another beloved team—the Arizona Diamondbacks—as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

As a Valley native, Tom has built meaningful relationships throughout the community with various organizations such as Special Olympics, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, Esperanza, and the Phoenix Thunderbirds. It is his relationship with SARRC, and his appreciation for the work that it provides, that motivated him to join the Legacy Circle.

“I felt the Legacy Circle was a great way to direct a future gift from my estate to an organization that I admire.”

Through the Legacy Circle, charitable gifts are planned to sustain the programs and services that SARRC provides over time. The Legacy Circle provides an opportunity for donors to impact future generations of children and families affected by autism spectrum disorder.

“I hope this gift can provide the financial support that SARRC needs to carry on its mission,” says Tom. “And I hope this commitment can inspire others to make a similar type of pledge.”
