SOUTHWEST AUTISM RESEARCH & RESOURCE CENTER TO
HOST 10TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY BREAKFAST
The Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) will host its 10th Annual Community Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the Arizona Biltmore’s Frank Lloyd Wright Ballroom. The breakfast raises funds to benefit SARRC’s outreach, education and research programs.
Autism is now the most prevalent childhood developmental disorder in the United States, affecting one in every 150 children born today. Autism appears during the first three years of life and interferes with normal development in language, intuitive thought and social interaction. There is no known cause and, far worse, no cure.
Since its founding in 1997, SARRC has significantly advanced its research studies and collaborations with researchers from around the world. SARRC has formally collaborated with the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) in the hopes of finding answers and treatments to this mysterious neurobiological disorder. In addition to its research efforts, SARRC also helps families deal with the daily challenges of life with autism by offering a wide variety of programs and services for individuals affected by autism and their family members.
