SUMMARY:Free Autism Screenings & Campus Tours
DESCRIPTION:Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) is passionate about supporting the community\, and we understand how crucial a child’s development is in an inclusive environment.  \nThe fall-themed event invites families to discover our Community School program with staff-led tours and will offer free autism screenings for children up to 84 months old. \nThis is a great opportunity for families to get questions answered about their child’s development and learn more about our preschool program\, which provides all-day high-quality care to children with and without autism ages 15 months to 5 years. \nDate & Location\nSaturday\, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at SARRC’s Scottsdale Paiute Campus: 6535 E Osborn Rd\, Scottsdale\, AZ 85251 \n\nHow the Screening Program Works:\nThe screening will take approximately 15 minutes based on the child’s age and the responses provided. Parent(s)/caregiver(s) will consult with an experienced SARRC staff member who will utilize a standardized and valid procedure to assess whether a formal evaluation is recommended. Following the screening\, a SARRC team member may advise that a formal autism diagnostic evaluation is recommended. \nPlease note that developmental screenings are not autism evaluations. However\, based on responses and eligibility\, a developmental evaluation by a licensed professional may be offered at no cost at a later date. \nAbout the Community School:\nSARRC’s Community School is a preschool that provides high-quality early childhood education for both children with and without autism in a blended classroom environment. \n\nSmall Class Sizes\n4:1 Student-Teacher Ratios\nAll-Day Care\nJuly-June School Year\nPlay-Based Curriculum\nFlexible Scheduling\nIndividualized Instruction\n\nRegister Today
